Handwoven Mangalgiri khadi stole

Size - 194 x 60 cms

Care Instructions: Dry clean only

Khadi is the name given to handspun handwoven cotton fibre. It is India’s signature fabric and represents the very spirit of India’s struggle for freedom. Khadi is a resilient fabric that breathes easily. Up until the 17th century, Khadi enjoyed prime position in the European market. During colonial times, British law brought the golden era of Khadi to a grinding halt. It was Mahatma Gandhi who revived the handspinning industry and made it a symbol of India’s fight for independence.

Mangalgiri is a place in Andhra Pradesh where this type of weave originates.
